Project Execution:
Basic Elements of the Activity
We will try to relate the specific issues and themes of the activity to the elements and working methods (as well as the program's sessions of the program) that we will use during the PDA. We will try to address all our activities' specific qualities as we describe below. The next lines will define the elements that we will be using:
- CULTURAL AWARENESS: Prior to each morning session, we will conduct energizers in a fun and creative manner to engage participants, as well as some team-building activities. Additionally, intercultural nights will be held to allow participants to showcase their cultures and traditions.
- SELF-AWARENESS: One major objective of the project is strengthening the self-awareness of participants through improvisation and theatrical methodologies. In the activity "Building Trust in Teams," participants will learn how to trust others while in the activity "Observation, Mimicry, and Active Listening," they will go through a series of tasks to learn how to actively listen to others and be open to adapt to their needs, more or less how to feel them and become more empathetic. Through the activity "YES AND…," they will learn the importance of acceptance and validation for a theatrical play to take place or a narrative but also how important it is to accept others even if we disagree with them for ideas to develop and flow smoothly. In the activities, "Multitask Mayhem" and "Adapt or Die Marketplace," they will improve their adaptability and improvisation skills, learning to multitask and adapt fast when the conditions change. In the activity, "The Idea Collider," participants will improve their creativity skills, while in the activity "Fear Factor: Entrepreneurial Edition," they will learn to make mistakes, take risks, and overcome and reflect on their fears. In the Journaling Activity, participants will be divided into groups of 2 and they will complete a series of tasks. The "Why" – Journaling activity is about identifying the motivation behind everything we do in life. This helps us to set up goals and find where we want to be in life. The "Core Values" – Journaling Activity is about identifying the 5 top core values of our character or our ideal character and it is about understanding in which environments we put ourselves as of our top core values.
- STRENGTHEN INNOVATION AND SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP: Through the various activities, participants will learn to think big, as well as to act big. On the fourth day of the PDA, we will start the day by transitioning from the soft skills developed through improvisation methodologies to social entrepreneurship analyzing the knowledge, skills, and attitudes, participants have developed from the previous days. Participants will have the opportunity to present the best practices of the best social ventures in their local areas, while in the afternoon two experts in social entrepreneurship will share with them the history of their companies and key insights on social entrepreneurship. Participants will learn the key attributes of an entrepreneur through the introduction of the ENTRECOMP concept, while they will practice the ideation step of Design Thinking by coming up with the worst ideas possible in groups and then transforming them into the best ideas possible.
